Sizes of hamsters

Hello. I am looking to buy either 1 Syrian hamster or 2 Russian Dwarf
hamsters. I have read varying reports on the adult size of these two
breeds.

I would be grateful if anyone can confirm roughly what size their adult
Syrian or Dwarf hamsters are?

Our Syrian is about 6 inches long. The Dwarfs we've had before were about
half that size.

An adult Syrian will be about the length of you hand or as short as the palm
of you hand.
A dwarf is about 1/3rd that size or smaller.
Both breeds are friendly and petable, once they get to know you.

Thanks guys for your replies. I decided to go ahead with a Syrian as I
was worried the Dwarfs were just too small!
